The great Lorraine Chandler & Eddie Parker performing at The Top Of The World - Stafford (UK) back in 1985. (below pics below taken by me)
The following is a poem of what Lorraine & Eddie 'might' have said to each other at sometime...well just maybe...
Oh Lorraine you know I LOVE YOU BABY
you know I really do,
There's always been one girl for me
and that happens to be you.

I'm so took in, by your sweet chin
don't you miss me when I'M GONE?
Sure do Eddie, I'm very flattered,
but you know I CAN'T HOLD ON!

Eddie you know that I CAN'T CHANGE
always be right here for you,
But maybe a box, of BLACK MAGIC chocs
just might lead me to say I do.

We'd spend all day, in the studio tucked away
loads of coffee to keep us AWAKE,
Writing lots of new songs for all our fans
and one's which we're happy to make!

You'd tell me funny stories
when I was feeling down,
Then serenade me with your version
of my favourite CRYING CLOWN.

We'd be performing for most of the time
and that would be just fine,
OH HOW I NEED YOUR LOVE my dear
so can you please TELL ME YOU'RE MINE.

While 60s Detroit was the place to be
and our DREAM was hoping to make it,
These BODY CHAINS you place on me
I give my love...so take it.

A GIANT thrill come's over me
Lorraine WHAT CAN I DO?
For I NEED A TRUE LOVE my dear
and that true love is you.

Eddie YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE my friend
together we'll face the northern scene,
There's lots more songs we need to write
Surely you know what I mean?

We'll give the collectors what they desire
all new sounds which they deserve,
Then place them all on ebay cheap
plus of course...with no reserve.

SHE DON'T WANT YOU, I'd never say such things
we live only for today,
PRODIGAL and ASHFORD, labels you've been on
and me on RCA.

So while your doing the sunday roast
and I am making the gravy,
I'll shout to you...HEY! Lorraine
You know I LOVE YOU BABY!

MEND THE TORN PIECES OF MY HEART if you can
I'll never say I CAN'T HOLD ON,
Now our songs are northern history
they'll live forever on and on.

What PIED PIPER songs sure did for me
and ASHFORD did for you,
Even GOOGA MOOGA is indemand
still collected by old and new.

Remember the nights we stayed up late
listening to those Detroit sounds?
Never frightened of trying anything new
nothing ever seemed out of bounds.

For us young soul singers back in our day
Detroit was busy and merry,
You always thought you'd make it someday
though of course, not without MIKE TERRY!

For us to be two northern icons
was never quite expected,
So will any new unissued gems
possibly ever be detected?

So at last we'll chalk up all our hits
on a pad with a black felt marker,
And that's why you're my dearest friend
my magic EDDIE PARKER!
