Picking a top ten of Northern Soul favourites is a very hard choice to make...so hard I had to put them in different catagories (because I couldn't bear to leave so many of them out!) What is it about a Northern Soul record that we like? Is it the beat?...is it the lyrics?...is it the style?...is it the obscurity?...well it's probably a combination of all four and possibly in that order too maybe? After around 35 years of collecting soul music, I've been privaliged to hear many many fine tunes, and when you get the same 'buzz' out of hearing that tune again 30+ years later....don't that just give you a 'tingle'!! - Of course like yours, my 'fav' top ten changes from week to week as you look through your collection and find one you have'nt played for years, but for now, in 2007....here is my all time top ten (or should I say top ten(s) that have well.......made me happy! (oh and before you ask, no I don't have all of them on originals....if only!)
